Total Waste Management

Total Waste Management (TWM) operates a range of potable and wastewater treatment plants across the PNG LNG operating facilities.

After witnessing the education and training opportunities offered to ExxonMobil PNG (EMPNG) staff, TWM management recognised that their operators were in need of training to help them reach their full potential.

Although well skilled through years of practical experience, the water treatment plant operators would benefit from formal training and qualifications in their field.

The company engaged an Australian Registered Training Organisation to provide their plant operators with formal training in water operations and award them with qualifications that will enhance their professional skills.

With the support of EMPNG, a six-month vocational and classroom-based training program was rolled out for operators to qualify for a Certificate II or Certificate III in Water Operations.

Staff embraced the training enthusiastically and have successfully completed their qualifications ahead of schedule.

TWM intends to use this as a model for training staff from other areas of their business.

EMPNG is a strong supporter of upskilling local suppliers and works closely with local businesses to identify needs for training and skills development.
