The Para clinic in the Hela Province has a new staff house, a refurbished patient waiting area and three renovated staff houses to help them better serve the community in the Hides region.

During the hand-over ceremony of the facilities, the Para sub health center board chairman, Telabe Moiyali thanked ExxonMobil PNG for its continuous support towards the clinic.

“We are so grateful to ExxonMobil PNG for always supporting us in our time of need. The new staff house and the three refurbished houses are definitely a boost to the morale of our staff,” Moiyali said.

ExxonMobil PNG’s Upstream Asset Manager, Kim Hahn when cutting the ribbon to the clinic’s new waiting area said, the company’s approach to development and investment is based on working with the communities.

“We believe that partnering with our communities and the organisations who provide health and education services in the province is a pathway to improving lives. The opening of these facilities are a reflection of what can be achieved when we all work together,” Hahn said.

The Para sub-health center is staffed and run by ECPNG and caters for a population of over 6500 men, women and children.Hahn encouraged the community in Para and the clinic staff to take good care of the facilities so that it lasts and continues to serve their community.

ExxonMobil PNG has funded the upgrade and repair of health facilities in Para and Mananda, as well as the construction of a new sub health centre at Juni, which is scheduled for completion later this year.

ExxonMobil PNG’s community investments are focused on creating sustainable benefits in education, health, agriculture, opportunities for women and the environment.
