About

Commitment

PNG LNG is committed to conducting business in a manner that protects and promotes the safety and health of our employees, those involved with the Project, and the communities where we work. We remain committed to helping meet the world’s energy needs while addressing the challenge of sustainability–balancing economic growth, social development, and environmental protection–so that future generations are not compromised by actions taken today.

ExxonMobil’s Standards of Business Conduct form the framework by which its affiliates such as ExxonMobil PNG Limited operate around the world. The relevant guiding principles and foundation policies in these Standards are the: Environment Policy, Labor Practices Guidance, Health Policy, Statement of Principles on Security and Human Rights, Best Practices in External Affairs and transparency commitments.

Specifically, the safety, security, health, environmental and social aspects of the Project are managed through a series of Project Management Plans.

Environmental and social requirements for PNG LNG are addressed in the Project’s Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP).  The ESMP provides an overview of the potential environmental and social impacts associated with construction activities and outlines mitigation actions and monitoring requirements.

The ESMP and its component plans were agreed at Financial Close. Since then it has been revised to incorporate additional requirements by local regulators and minor editorial changes.

Rina Consulting S.p.A. (formerly D'Appolonia S.p.A.), the independent environmental and social auditor for the Lender Group, has reviewed the revised ESMP and component plans and advised that they comply with applicable Lender Environmental and Social Standards and applicable Environmental and Social Laws.
